The crew behind Outback Clothing Company are just like you. We’re farmers and we’ve spent many years working in the outback.
Living on the land can be tough, lonely and hard work. It can also be exhilarating and life affirming when everything works smoothly.
That’s why we’re here. We want to help everything run smoothly.
We know that it can be hard to find reliable, quality clothing and other station-specific products to help you survive the hottest days and the coldest nights in the Australian outback.
We know that often times people come to work on a cattle station, unprepared for what lays ahead. Something as little as forgetting a hat or a toothbrush can take up to 6-8 hours to drive to town or they’re reliant on the station cook to go into town and get it for them – if they remember.
So, we’re doing what we can to bring you everything that’s needed and we’re committed to helping you with our finder service for difficult to locate products.
Matt and Mel are hardworking country folk with years of experience working on their own cattle stations. They deeply understand the physical and mental toll that living remote can take, but for many who have lived this way for generations, it’s a way of life.
On top of his own work, Matt spent several years travelling the Australian countryside, helping other farmers with anything from a friendly well-needed chat, fixing bore pumps and windmills in the drought, to offering a spare pair of hands birthing cattle, to help fixing tractors, machinery and fencing.
Both Matt and Mel became aware that many rural Australians were in need of help, so they put their heads together to come up with a way they could assist their fellow farmers.
Knowing full well that farmers and those living in remote locations often struggle to source the products they need due to proximity and connectivity issues, they put together a range of quality outback clothing products designed specifically to meet the needs of hardworking Aussie farmers and outback workers.
They’ve expanded their vision to offer all sorts of station supplies and will assist many people with their free finder service which aims to assist in finding difficult to locate products and services.
They truly love helping people, so feel free to enjoy the products and service that they’ve created.
'I’m in Australia from the UK and I’d always dreamed of working in the outback. I arrived in Broome and was not aware of the hot weather and the conditions on this cattle station, a staff member referred me on to OCC and they helped me get all the equipment I needed with a hat, shirts, jeans and the water bottle was perfect. Thanks OCC'
'As the station cook on a remote cattle station. I arrived at the start of season, had no supplies. Got on to the staff at OCC, they set me up with toilet rolls, bulk detergents, towels, light globes ect. I just sent them an email of what I was after and they got back to me with a quote, organised delivery - it was pretty easy and now they know what we need, we can do a quick re-order with them for next season.'
